InFocus M530 – Specifications and Price

Infocus M530 specifications and price

In the past few years, the mobile market in India has seen a tremendous rise. And to profit from this rise, several international and Indian brands have stepped in with their own offerings in terms of smartphones. Out of these, some brands managed to acquire quick popularity among Indian consumers. Most these new brands target the consumers who want full-featured and good looking smartphone at affordable prices. This has led to the happy result of there being now available for Indian consumers many smartphone options that provide impressive specifications, good features and all this at a very affordable price.

One of these brands is InFocus. InFocus is an American brand that is still a very new entrant in Indian market. In fact, the recently launched M530 is only their third smartphone launched in India. But they already enjoy good popularity and the first two smartphones that they launched in India saw good sales. These are the very popular InFocus M2 and InFocus M330. What contributed to the popularity of these two devices is that they offer a bunch of great specifications (especially camera and processor) at a very affordable rates. InFocus M2, for example has 8MP primary as well as secondary camera and costs less than five thousand rupees (Read full review of InFocus M2). M330 costs a little more but gives even a better set of specifications, primarily an Octa-core processor and 13MP primary camera (read detail review of InFocus M330).

And very recently, InFocus launched a third smartphone in India. This smartphone is named InFocus M530 and it  is being dubbed by InFocus as the “Mother of all Camera Smartphones.” Not just that, InFocus also claims that M530 has the most powerful processor in its segment. In fact, the company claims that InFocus M530 is capable of surpassing the Antutu test numbers of even Samsung Galaxy S5 and Xiomi MI4. That decidedly makes it one powerful device.

Speaking on the launch, Sachin Thapar, Country Head, InFocus Mobiles said,“After much research and careful market study, we realized that today’s young Indians have two specific demands from their ideal smartphone: powerful phone and a camera that astounds, particularly one that gives the best-quality selfies. Keeping these preferences in mind, we have developed a one-of-a-kind smartphone that is a manifestation of all their desires! The 13 MP front camera with flash and the rear camera equipped with dual color flash and F1.8 aperture ensures the clearest, brightest and most beautiful pictures that deserve to be shared with friends and family.”

To give you a quick glimpse of the main specifications of InFocus M530, it has the processing power of MediaTek MT6595 Octa, Quad-A17 2GHz + Quad-A7 1.7GHz processors. It has 2 GB RAM which is enough to ensure good speed. It has 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded to 64 GB with a microSD card. M530 is a big screen device. It has 5.5 inch HD Full Lamination display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen is said to be scratch and shock resistant and anti-reflective. The operating system is Android KitKat, which is a little disappointing. I hope the device would get a Lolipop upgrade, but I’m not sure of that. Anyway, M530 is powered by a 3,100 mAh (removable) battery. M530 is also capable of 4G LTE connectivity and is a dual-SIM phone..

The device is being dubbed as the mother of all camera phones. So of course, its camera is the highlight of the device. Well, M530 is equipped with two 13MP cameras. Yes, not just its primary but its secondary camera is also 13 MP. The rear 13 MP camera has Sony Exmor lens, optical image stabilizer & F1.8 aperture and dual color LED flash for better colour output of photos in low light. The camera modes include Beauty for better selfies.

One of the features o M530 is the Black Screen Gestures which are also present in InFcous M330. These gesture commands allow the user to just trance a symbol like C or M etc. on the sleeping screen. Just by tracing the preset symbol on the locked screen, the phone wakes up and launches the app.

As for appearance, InFocus M530 has thickness on 9.1mm which makes it one of the thinnest phones in its price segment. Its body has a ceramic like finish with metal frame and metal rim around the camera. M530 is available in white and violet colour variants.
