Latest range of Nokia Android Smartphones launched in India

Although a late entrant in the Android smartphone race, Nokia now seems all geared up to pose a challenge to the market leaders. Nokia has launched 3 Android smartphones in India. Priced in the range of 10k to 15k, these devices come with pure Android experience, guarantee of regular software updates and the reliability of brand Nokia.

At the launch of this new range of Nokia smartphones, Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global, said, “Nokia is a trusted and well-loved brand across the world and especially in India. Today’s announcement scripts a new chapter for Nokia phones in this country as we set out to capture the hearts and minds of an entirely new generation of fans through an inspiring and purpose-led approach. The new line-up comprising the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3 is visually stunning and will always be available out-of-the-box with the latest and pure version of Android. We intend to break the clutter in a market dominated by undifferentiated products by providing a great user experience while living up to the Nokia brand promise of simplicity, trust, reliability and quality.”

Nokia 6:

Specifications: With the best buy price of Rs. 14,999/-, Nokia 6 is the flagship device of the newly launched range of Nokia Android smartphones. It is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 430 mobile platform and the Qualcomm® Adreno™ 505 graphics processor. It has 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. Nokia 6 has Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box delivering pure Android experience and all the Nougat features like Doze, multi-window etc. It also has Google Assistant and Nokia promises to keep the device updated with regular software updates. Nokia 6 comes equipped with smart audio amplifier and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos® sound technology. It has 16 MP rear and 8 MP front cameras.

Appearance: Nokia 6 has a unibody design crafted from a single block of 6000 series aluminium which adds to its sturdiness and durability. It has 5.5” full HD dully laminated display protected by sculpted Corning Gorilla glass. It is available in Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper colours.

Specifications: Nokia 5 is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 430 processor mobile platform chipset and has 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. It has 13 MP rear camera and 8MP, 84-degree wide-angle front camera. It too runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and comes with Nokia’s assurance of regular software updates.

Appearance: The Nokia 5 also has the unibody design precision engineered out of a single block of 6000 series aluminium. It has 5.2” IPS HD display protected by sculpted Corning® Gorilla® Glass. It is available in Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper colours.

Specifications: Nokia 3 is the most affordably priced device out of the newly launched range of Nokia Android smartphones. It is equipped with MTK 6737, Quad-core 1.3Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and 2630 mAh battery. It has 8MP primary and 8MP secondary camera.

Appearance: Nokia 3 has a precision machined aluminium frame forged out of a single piece of aluminium. This adds to the strength and structural integrity of the device. It has fully laminated 5” IPS display with sculpted Corning® Gorilla® Glass protection. The screen is polarized which makes for fewer reflections and better visibility in sunlight. Nokia 3 is available in Matte Black, Silver White, Tempered Blue and Copper White colours.

Nokia 6, 5, 3 : Sturdy devices with pure Android experience

These three new Nokia smartphone cannot boast of bringing the best specification set for their price tag. But they might still be able to pose a challenge to the competitors with their pure Android experience, promise of regular Android updates, and the brand prestige of Nokia. Being Android Nougat devices, they all have the Nougat features like Doze and split window. They also have the Google Assistant feature to add to the convenience of use.

Nokia 3 will be available starting from June 16 across top mobile retailers in India. Nokia 5 will be available for pre-booking from July 7 in select mobile retail outlets across key cities such as Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune and Calicut. Registrations for Nokia 6 will start from July 14, exclusive on Amazon.in.

Nokia Mobile Care

As per the information I got, HMD Global has appointed more than 400 distributors. These will make Nokia smartphones and feature phones available at more than than 80,000 retail outlets across the country. HMD is also heavily investing to provide robust after-sales service to Nokia mobiles. By June end, Nokia Mobile Care centers will be available in over 300 Indian cities. Nokia Mobile Care will also be available in the form of voice and web support and will offer device pickup/drop in 100 Indian cities.
