Earlier, it used to be said that ‘diamonds are a girl’s best friend.’ But that no longer is true. Our best friend now is a smartphone that takes great selfies. I believe that holds true for guys too because the selfie craze has bitten everyone.
So, if you are trying to find a perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetheart, consider a smartphone with great selfie capabilities.
Zenfone 4 Selfie (Dual Camera) is one such smartphone. As its name suggests, it’s designed to deliver great selfies. Not just that, it can make you look your best even in live videos.
Here’s why Zenfone 4 Selfie (Dual Camera) is excellent for selfie fans.
Dual Front Camera:
For the selfie lovers, ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Dual Cam has two cameras in the front. Together, these 20 MP (f/2.0, 1.0micrometer, 5P Lens) + 8 MP (6P Lens, f/2.4, 1.12 micrometer) front cameras help in delivering better selfies, in all light conditions. Thanks to this dual camera setup, the device is also capable of capturing wide angle selfie of upto 120 degree. The photo modes available for front camera include Portrait Mode and Beauty Mode. The Softlight flash helps in getting better selfies even in low light.
ZenFone 4 Selfie Dual Cam has 16MP rear camera with 5P Lens, f2.2, 1.0micrometer, EIS, PDAF. The rear camera modes include Auto, Low Light, HDR Pro, Beauty, and Portrait mode. There is also the Super Resolution mode for 64 MP Photos. Other rear camera modes include Panorama, Selfie Panorama, GIF Animation and Time Lapse. There are also 9 photo Filters.
Selfie Master App for the selfie masters:
This app takes advantage of the dual front camera and Selfie Master Technology to make users look better on pictures and videos. It can apply beautification features not just on the photos, but also on videos and Live Videos. With the Live Stream Beautification feature, users can even adjust the beautification level while being live on social networks. The app fills the photos and videos with more light, makes the skin looks smooth. Users just need to choose the beautification level, and the app does the rest. It is very easy to use and delivers photos and videos that are prettier, but still natural looking.
Selfie Master app also has features like Photo Collage and Slideshow (customizable mini movie.). This app is a lot of fun and makes taking beautiful selfies and videos a breeze.
Of course, no smartphone can be called good just because of its camera. A smartphone needs to be capable of delivering swift and stable performance. Otherwise, it would feel more like a punishment than a gift!
Well, ZenFone 4 Selfie (dual camera) has no such problem. Despite being priced at mid-range, it is a very capable device. It runs on Android™ 7 with ZenUI 4.0 and is expected to upgrade to the latest Android Oreo soon. It is powered by 3000mAh battery with quick charging. It has Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 430 Octa-core 64-bit processor and Adreno™ 505 GPU. The smartphone has 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. 4GB RAM is quite sufficient memory for efficient multi-tasking. The device runs fast, without a lag. The 64 GB internal storage is quite ample too.
Of course, if you give a smartphone as a gift, you want it to be as pleasing to look at as it is good at performing.
ZenFone 4 Selfie has a 5.5″ HD (1280×720) IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 400 nits brightness. The narrow 1.65mm- bezel gives the device an excellent screen to body ratio. The display has a Blue-light filter that can be used to protect eyes while staring at the device for a long time. There are no physical keys on the front. The Power key and the Volume Rocker are on the right edge. The fingerprint sensor is in the front, under the display. The fingerprint sensor is capable of 360 degree recognition of upto five fingers.
ZenFone 4 selfie has a simplistic metallic finished design and weighs only 144g weight. It feels very light-weight, considering its big display. And I love how the back panel glimmers under sunlight.
User Interface and Features:
ASUS ZenFone Selfie Dual Cam has a lot going for it even in the software department. It has ZenUI 4.0 user interface. I find ZenUI very efficient and highly intuitive. It offers numerous customization options like themes, icons, screen scroll effects etc. Its features like Smart Folder are a delight to use.
ZenFones also come with some very useful ZenUI apps. My favourite is the Mobile Manager. It has several features that can help in the smooth and secure functioning of the device, with optimum battery usage. The Auto Start features restricts the apps from automatically starting in the background. I also like that one can schedule the performance modes. So, you can use one mode in the day and set the device to switch to Super Saving mode at night.
Gesture & Motion Commands:
Girls know how to give commands by half a smile, lift of the eyebrow or just a look of the eye. So, of course, we love it when even our smartphone understands and obeys our slight moves and gestures. ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Dual Cam knows how to do that. It has a Gesture and Motion commands feature. These commands include double knock to lock or wake up the device, and gestures drawn on black screen to quickly launch favourite apps.
Over all, ASUS ZenFone Selfie Dual Camera is an excellent smartphone option for selfie lovers. It packs an excellent set of camera capabilities, beautification features, hardware specification and software features. With the MRP of Rs. 15,999, it is a very budget-friendly device as well.
So, what do you think? Wouldn’t a smartphone like this make for a far better friend than diamonds? Of course, diamonds are forever. But friends are to have fun with. And a capable smartphone with excellent camera features is a lot of fun.
